O Captain! My Captain!
While bosses come in a variety of shapes and sizes, there are only a few qualities that can truly define an inspiring leader.
At Big Marlin Group, we understand what it means to have inspiring leaders. In fact, we are surrounded by them. Just call us one of the lucky few. Big Marlin Group is a supportive, passionate and energetic company where everyone is treated like family.
It’s been said that a company’s greatest asset is its people. This is true, however, at Big Marlin Group we also know that we, as employees, couldn’t do great things without great leadership to guide us to success. Every department in our office is led by not just a boss, but a leader who inspires each of us to do and be our best.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”– Steve Jobs
Not only do we work in a place so cool that even Jimmy Buffet would be proud, but we spend our days collaborating as a team, working towards goals, sharing in success and helping each other towards a solution when things get tough. Don’t believe us? It’s true, and we wouldn’t be this way without people like John Allen, Derek Watkins, Jamie Hein, and Ted Brown.
These individuals help foster our company atmosphere and make it a place to be proud of. They each provide something that a boss doesn’t have, but a truly inspiring leader does.
We have been fortunate enough to experience birthday lunches, happy hours, and did I mention, we each have our own Beach Cruiser parked on a bike rack INSIDE the office?! FACT. Then to top it off, this past November, we were all given the opportunity to go on an adventure to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate in our accomplishments as a team.
We left Phoenix feeling excited for an adventure, and an adventure we received! While there, we created new memories with our team, made new friends with the locals, and even had a VIP tour of the Arch of Cabo San Lucas thanks to John Allen’s negotiating skills. Check out the video below to watch our adventure:
John, Derek, Jamie and Ted, this is our way of saying thank you. Thank you for fostering a company atmosphere that makes us proud to be apart of. Thank you for always providing us with support and room to grow as individuals and employees. And thank you, for one hell of a trip.
