We’re and looking for a smart, driven and creative Content & Social Media Writer. The ideal team member would be someone who understands all of the major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Snap Chat) and how they integrate into marketing. This person would have a strong understanding of building a social media community and how to grow a social media presence and engage with page followers. The ideal candidate would be someone who is confident in researching, brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into copy for articles, advertisements, print publications, and all other marketing and branding communications including social media posts, blogs, website content, and more for our clients in various industries. A strong writing background is required. This person will need to take direction in both written and spoken forms and convert them into written material. This person should also understand how the major search engines work and what people are searching for when they visit customer websites.

As our agency continues to grow, you’ll have a unique opportunity to grow and help shape our team. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of the digital, social, web and SEO landscapes as well as experience working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing engaging content for blogs and website projects, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks, optimizing our company website and conducting keyword analysis.   • Write about a variety of different topics as they relate to a number of different industries and audiences
  • Turn complex information into easy-to-understand content so that the intended audience can relate quickly
  • Create content to be repurposed for websites, blogs, news articles, landing pages, newsletters, press releases, sales collateral, social media posts and more
  • Proofread material for grammar, formatting consistencies and other accuracies
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Develop engaging content for social media on a weekly and monthly basis for company brands
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages the target audience to act
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content and digital footprint
  • Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information to develop more effective campaigns
  • Provide recommendations to team to further grow social media and web audiences
  • Collaborate with other departments (account managers, creative teams, interns, and sales) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
  • Participate in team and customer meetings
  • Make pitches along with other BMG sales and account teams to win new business or to build upon existing business

 

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent writing technique using different styles and tones for various industries
  • Flawless spelling and grammar
  • Must be confident in researching and self-educating on various topics recognizing reputable sources
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience Microsoft Suite and Google Products
  • Experience working with HubSpot, WordPress, social platforms such as Hootsuite, etc.
  • Experience with keyword placement and SEO best practice is a plus
  • Basic understanding of online engagement through creative writing
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of proven experience in journalism, communications, social media or related field
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and knowledge of social analytics tools
  • General understanding of how to use organic social media to optimize engagement
  • Basic knowledge of web copy and SEO
  • Experience using Photoshop, InDesign or other applications used for imagery
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Positive attitude, detail, and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Ability/willingness come in early or stay late, as the need arises
  • A flexible attitude with the ability work hard and have fun at the same time
